How to upload or edit your resume photo
Add, replace, or remove a resume photo with market-specific best-practice guidance.

A resume photo can help in some markets and hurt in others. The right choice depends on country norms, industry expectations, and the type of role you are targeting. Use this guide to decide deliberately instead of following random template defaults.
Upload a photo
- Open your resume and click on the profile photo placeholder in the template.
- Select Upload Photo and choose a JPG or PNG file from your device.
- The photo appears in the template immediately. Use the crop tool to adjust framing.
- Save your resume. The photo is stored with your document.
Replace or remove your photo
- Click the existing photo in the editor.
- Select Replace to upload a new image, or Remove to clear the photo entirely.
- If you remove the photo, the template adjusts the layout to fill the space.
Photo tips
- Use a plain or simple background — busy backgrounds distract from the document.
- A clear, well-lit headshot works best. Avoid group photos or casual shots.
- Square or portrait crops fit template frames better than landscape.
- File size under 2MB keeps loading fast and export clean.
