Why your resume is missing changes or not saving
Fix save issues fast and set up a safer editing routine that prevents lost work.
Losing edits is frustrating because it breaks writing momentum. Most save issues come from session interruptions, unstable connections, or quick tab exits. Use this guide to diagnose the cause fast and prevent repeat loss.
Check the save status indicator
The editor shows a save status in the top bar. Look for 'Saved' or 'Saving...' — if it shows an error or has been on 'Saving...' for more than a few seconds, a save may not have completed.
Common causes and fixes
- Network interruption: check your connection and wait a moment. The editor will retry automatically.
- Browser session expired: if you were logged out, your edits since the last save may be lost. Refresh and log in.
- Tab was closed too quickly: auto-save fires shortly after you stop typing. Wait two to three seconds before closing.
- Browser extension conflict: ad blockers or privacy extensions can sometimes interfere. Try in a private/incognito window.
How to avoid losing work
- After a long editing session, wait for 'Saved' to appear before closing the tab.
- If you are on an unreliable connection, export a PDF copy after major edits as a local backup.
- Do not use the back button to exit the editor — use the dashboard navigation instead.
