How recruiter outreach works
Understand how recruiter outreach works, what data is shared, and how to stay in control.
Recruiter outreach can open opportunities that never reach public job boards. This guide explains how visibility works, what gets shared, and how to decide when to engage.
How your profile is used
When you enable recruiter visibility, a version of your professional profile (job title, key skills, experience summary, location preference) is made available to verified recruiters searching for candidates. Your full document content and contact details are only shared if you opt in to a specific approach.
What triggers outreach
- A recruiter searches for candidates matching your profile criteria.
- They send an outreach message through the platform.
- You receive a notification and can review the message before deciding to respond.
Controlling your visibility
- Recruiter visibility is off by default. You enable it in Job Search Settings.
- You can turn it off at any time.
- You can set your availability status: actively looking, open to opportunities, or not looking.
