How to preview your resume and cover letter
Use pre-export QA checks to catch layout and clarity issues before submission.
Preview is your last quality gate before recruiters see your work. In fast-moving 2025 and 2026 hiring cycles, small layout issues can create a poor first impression. This checklist helps you catch them before they cost you interviews.
Open the preview
- In the editor, click Preview or the eye icon in the top bar.
- The preview renders your document at full A4 size.
- Scroll through the preview to check all pages.
- Click anywhere outside the preview or press Escape to return to editing.
What to check in preview
- Nothing is cut off at the edges or bottom of a page.
- Section headings are clearly visible and not running into content.
- Text is not too small or too large for the layout.
- Bullet points are aligned and consistent.
- Your name and contact information are clearly visible at the top.
- If the document runs slightly onto a second page, consider reducing font size or condensing a section.
Preview on mobile
The preview is optimised for desktop. If you are editing on mobile, the preview may appear smaller than the final export. Export a test PDF and open it on your device to check the actual output.
