How to change resume or cover letter language
Localize resume language while keeping structure, clarity, and export reliability intact.
Multilingual applications are now normal across EU and remote-first roles. Changing language is not only translation; it is also about preserving clarity, structure, and tone for the target market. Use this flow to avoid mixed-language or inconsistent submissions.
Change the heading language
- Open your resume and go to Settings or Document Settings.
- Find the Heading Language option.
- Select the language you want from the dropdown.
- Section titles update immediately in the preview.
Translating your actual content
Changing the heading language only changes the section labels — it does not translate the text you have written. If you need a fully translated version, you will need to write the content in the target language yourself.
- Duplicate the resume first so your original version is preserved.
- On the duplicate, change both the heading language and rewrite your content in the target language.
- Export as PDF — this keeps the layout intact regardless of character set.
Supported languages
Section headings are currently supported in English, German, French, Spanish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Italian, and Czech. If you need a language not listed, contact support and we will note the request.
